Description

The structural evaluation process of existing concrete structures involves the understanding of existing capacity, safety, and future expected life. Evaluation and repair or strengthening of deteriorated concrete structures requires specific tasks and responsibilities of owners, licensed design professionals (LDPs), and contractors. One session discusses these tasks and responsibilities for each entity. And more specifically identifies and explains evaluation testing methods both non-destructive and destructive (cores) that are responsibilities of the LDP. The other session discusses evaluation and repairs of two interesting 1970’s parking structure renovation projects—an unbonded post-tensioned slab deck repair project and a precast prestressed double tee with concrete topping deck and beam repair project.
