Abstract:
Apart from the spans of the largest suspension bridges, cable-stayed spans are among the longest in the world. Long spans, which create optimal conditions for vessel volume, navigation, and safety, can be achieved in cable-stayed construction at a fraction of the cost it takes to build a suspension span of comparable length.
