Abstract:
On a vacation to Switzerland and southern Germany in May 1985, the author observed the quantity and quality of concrete there. Concrete is widely used in that part of Europe and, in comparison with concrete in America, seems more attractive and durable. Observations and speculations on the reasons for the differences are presented.
