Abstract:
The effects of air entrainment on sulfate resistance in properly designed concretes containing fly ash were reviewed. Use of air entrainment for freeze-thaw resistance was not examined because it is well documented that these concretes must be properly air en-trained. It would appear that potential benefits of air entrainment in fly ash concrete for sulfate resistance are somewhat overstated.
