Abstract:
Demolition of a concrete chimney at public utility plant provided an opportunity to study the relation of SO3 content of the cross section of the shell to the condition of the concrete. This data used to supplement physical examination in determining necessity for repair of two other chimneys at same plant. Wartime conditions required repair without plant shut-down. Methods employed and results obtained are described in detail.
