Abstract:
Paper was presented to conference group at bureau of Reclamation, Denver, as of possible assistance through viewpoint of a petrologist, in an approach to problems presented by chemical activity of some rock in the presence of high-alkali cement. It is not to be read as an explanation of disturbing phenomena re cently observed in concrete structures, but, as author says, a suggestion based on petrologic analogy.
