Abstract:
Discusses the frictional and mechanical bond of seven-wire strands used in pretensioned concrete. The bond transfer lengths required for strands of l/2, 3/8, and l/4 in. nominal diameters are determined experimentally, and are found to increase considerably for strands of larger diameters.
