Abstract:
Describes a large extension project to this well-known hotel in Las Vegas, Nev. Includes discussion of the design concept and construction. Reviews the investigation to determine the natural period of vibration for the hotel which is in an area susceptible to earthquakes. Remedial measures needed mandue to faulty construction of one of the floors are also discussed.
