Abstract:Presents a method of constructing shell structures with the elimination of traditional formwork. Several scaled models were made, including a full-scale dome-shaped shell. The experiments indicate that this construction technique may save over 20 percent of both labor and material costs, with only a slight increase in the amount of steel.
