Title: Repetitive Dynamic Loading on
Pretensioned Prestressed Beams

Keywords: beams (supports) ; blast loads; bond (concrete to reinforcement) ; cyclic loads; dynamic loads; prestressed concrete; pretensioning; research.
Abstract:Eight pretensioned concrete beams were subjected to repetitions of highly impulsive load until the occurrence of a compressive failure. The number of applications of the dynamic load varied from five to seven. The results of this study indicated that the calculated ultimate static load is a satisfactory design criterion for a beam subjected to a low number of blast-type loadings. Bond failure does not appear to be a critical factor.
