Abstract:Reports tests on 38 simply supported deep beams, with L/D ratio range from 1 to 3 and clear-shear-span/depth ratio x/D from 0.23 to 0.7; effects of 8 types of web reinforcement. Found that ultimate strength formulas suitable for normal weight concrete deep beams not neces sarily applicable to deep beams of lightweight aggregate concretes.
