Abstract:
The variability of the short time ultimate flexural strength of simply supported pretensioned factory precast and post-tensioned cast-in-place bonded prestressed concrete beams was statistically studied. The resulting probability distributions of the strength were used to evaluate strength reduction factors for use in structural design of bonded prestressed concrete beams.
