Title: Slender Columns Interaction Diagrams

Abstract:A procedure for developing slender column interaction diagrams is presented. The provisions of ACI 318-77 for the approximate evaluation of slenderness effects are utilized. Conventional interaction diagrams are modified using a nondimensional parameter characterizing column slenderness. The interaction diagrams developed provide a direct solution for the reinforcing ratio of single columns. The approach presented will reduce the design time for reinforced concrete structures.
