Abstract:
The session will cover various aspects of D-cracking of concrete pavements. This is both a contentious and unfortunately common issue in the Kansas City area, as well as nationally. Some aspects of the issue which are reviewed include: petrographic evaluations, actions being taken by local DOTs to reduce the occurrence, the role of moisture in causing the issue, and some responses to the issue by the industry and public sector.
