Abstract:The special session will emphasize the sustainable performance of concrete bridges and their elements when subjected to aggressive environments. Presentations will include a variety of technical aspects such as durability of concrete members, performance monitoring technologies, evaluation methodologies, damage assessment, and structural rehabilitation. Both experimental and analytical investigations are of interest. The session brings to light recent research findings and provides an opportunity to discuss present challenges and technical issues. Critical information is given to those who lead tomorrow’s bridge design and construction, including practicing engineers, government officials, and academics.
