Abstract:
When considering the lifetime environmental impact of a building material from extraction, production, construction, operation, demolition, and recycling, concrete is an excellent choice for sustainable construction. Data and project profiles demonstrate how chemical admixtures reduce the environmental impact of concrete during production, assist in producing ecologically friendly concrete technologies for sustainable structures, and/or decrease environmental burden by increasing the service life of structures.
