Abstract:This session will provide details of the analysis, design, and performance of precast elements exposed to blast and impact loads. Presentations will include the design considerations, design procedures, and existing resources applicable to the design of precast concrete exposed to blast loads. In addition, current research will be presented detailing the blast and impact resistance of a variety of precast elements. The objective of this session is to provide presentations that detail the state-of-the-art precast concrete designed to resist blast and impact loads. This includes the current procedures being used by engineers to design precast elements and research aimed at material and design advancements.
