Abstract:
The paper presents a set of applications of a numerical model for reinforced concrete in the simulation of concrete fracture under static and impact loading. In particular, a regularized formulation of damage-plasticity theory is employed in order to preserve the well-posedness of the mathematical model in the presence of damage which causes softening. The model is implemented in the FEAP finite element package. A bar under dynamic direct tension is the first numerical example. Next, a beam in four-point bending which was examined experimentally by Eibl et al. is computed and discussed. Studies of mesh and model parameter dependence are performed.
