Abstract:
Precast concrete construction has managed to remain the least understood of the major forms of multi-storey building construction. This is partly due to the fact that trainee engineers are not exposed to the design requirements and benefits of precast concrete as part of their education. This paper is designed to give further insight into the benefits of structural precast concrete design and construction, and its use in Melbourne, with particular emphasis on skeletal frame structures.
