Abstract:
There is a clear and definite commitment by the Australian Government to ensure that the construction industry moves towards ecological sustainability. There is an increasing awareness among practitioners (designers and builders) that there are many environmental issues that need to be considered in the design, construction and operation of buildings to ensure that the built environment is sustainable. This paper presents an overview of LCA methodology and discusses its relevance and application in the construction industry.
