Abstract:
Post-installed anchors for use in concrete are frequently subjected to combined tension and shear loads. The influence of load on anchorage resistance under combined static loads is typically represented in design by a quadratic interaction. A research program was carried out to investigate whether the quadratic interaction is valid under the combined cyclic tension and shear loads that will occur during an earthquake. It is concluded that, in the absence of product-specific cyclic interaction tests, linear interaction should be used for seismic anchor design.
