Abstract:
Describes the evaluation of a post-tensioned one-way parking garage deck slab supported by a post-tensioned precast beam system. Many deck cables had developed major section loss, particularly at construction joints where intermediate stressing points were located. The investigation concluded that the existing deck could be salvaged by restressing the original cables at a new pour strip constructed to replace the intermediate construction joint.
