Abstract:
Last-minute preparation of project specifications is often accomplished by cutting and pasting the most recently used similar project specification in the final few hours before going out for project bids. This approach is no longer acceptable. The advent of new construction materials, improved construction procedures, emphasis on quality construction at reduced cost, and increased litigation now require specification writers to prepare current, clear, concise, and correct project specifications. Using standard specifications published by the American Concrete Institute can help accomplish this.
