Abstract:Big Eddy Dam had severely deteriorated since its construction between 1918 and 1922. A variety of repair methods had failed to arrest the deterioration of the concrete and the extensive seepage of water through the dam. Investigation of the dam and its foundations are described, along with the various remedial measures taken to improve the dam's overall stability, reduce seepage, and replace surface concrete in critical locations.
