Title: Microcomputer-Aided Design of Reinforced and Prestressed Concrete Elements
Author(s): F. C. Filippou
Publication: Special Publication
Appears on pages(s): 1-16
Keywords: axial loads; beams (supports); bending moments; microcomputers; prestressed concrete; reinforced concrete; structural design; General
Abstract:Potential advantages of using electronic spreadsheets in advanced reinforced and prestressed concrete design are presented. The power of this tool is demonstrated through a series of examples, including the moment-curvature relation of reinforced and prestressed concrete beams, the axial load-uniaxial and biaxial bending moment interaction diagram of reinforced concrete sections, and the tendon layout of simply supported beams prestressed with draped or straight tendons.
