Abstract:
Seeking a solution for a bridge corrosion problem, a city engineering department specified cathodic protection as a means of saving a viaduct that is one of the city's major arteries. This 3400 ft long concrete and steel viaduct spans the main switching yards (26 tracks) of two railroads and provides critical daily access to the city for 15,000 vehicles.
