Abstract:
Discusses the effect of construction tolerances on the flatness, levelness, and elevation of conventionally reinforced cast-in-place concrete and concrete slabs on metal decks. Examines selected accepted tolerances for formwork elevation, reinforcing steel fabrication and placement, beam and slab thickness, structural steel fabrication and erection, and floor surface elevation. Identities and discusses tolerance areas that are commonly overlooked in contract documents.
