Abstract:The Bankers Hall Development structure was to consist of two 52-story office towers, a four-story retail podium, and a five-story underground parking structure. The design and construction was abandoned in 1982 as a result of a recession. It was resumed in early 1986. The geotechnical investigation revealed that no meaningful deep foundation could be constructed, as there was practically no rock base under the site. A foundation mat was the recommended solution.
