Title: Strain and Ultimate Strength of Concrete Under Triaxial Stress
Author(s): P. Launay and H. Gachon
Publication: Special Publication
Appears on pages(s): 269-282
Keywords: compressive strength; concretes; deformation; failure mechanisms; modulus of elasticity; Poisson ratio; rheological properties; research; strains; strength; stresses; triaxial loads
Abstract:The paper describes and analyses the measurements made by the "Centre d' Etudes Scientifiques et Techniques" (CEST - Grenoble) for the Compagnie Industrielle de Travaux (CITRA - Paris) in 1968-1969 on cubic specimens of concrete with a view to studying the deformability under service compression stresses and the failure strength of the thick concrete walls used in nuclear reactor caissons.
