Appears on pages(s): 352-372
Abstract:In this lecture, I would like to inform you generally as to extension of Section 9 of the Munich Metro located at Sendlinger Tor Platz in downtown Munich. The basic requirements on the application of the method of construction we selected for Section 9, also apply to the following Section 18.2 connecting up the mainline station. In September 1973 we were contracted by the joint venture for Section 9 to work out alternative proposals for advancing the various tunnel tubes in accordance with the New Austrian Tunnelling Method. Full scale advancement was started in spring of 1974 and is still going on.
