Abstract:
A biography of Ernest Leslie Ransome. Ernest Leslie Ransome was born in England in 1844. His great-grandfather had established an iron foundry near Ipswich, which had remained the family business. Ernest's interest in concrete construction developed naturally since his father, Frederick Ransome, had broadened the scope of the foundry and was an early pioneer in the British concrete industry.
