Abstract:
Bridge bearing pads of Neoprene have demostrated exceptional performance, maintence-free durability and overall cost effectiveness for over 25 years. For these reasons, Neoprene bearing pads are being utilized in a growing variety of applications calling for larger sizes, increased shape factors, and higher load-bearing capacity. However, laboratory data prediciting the performance characterisitcs of these bearings has not been readily available. . .This paper is intended to provide the design engineer with additional data useful in utlizing the full potential of elastomeric bearing pads of Neoprene.
