Abstract:A study is made of available data concerning the punching shear strength, when moment transfer is not present, of slabs without shear reinforcement. Data from tests on solide concrete slabs; light-weight concrete slabs, perforated slabs, prestressed slabs and slab systems are reviewed, and the findings contrasted with the provisions of ACI Code 318-71.
