Abstract:In this first report of the Committee no definite recommendations are presented for specific tests or methods are presented for specific tests or methods of making tests of aggregate, except that the Committee recommends for a practical test of sand a determination of the strength of mortar made with it. The report, therefore, is in the nature of a tenative discussion of various tests and of methods that have been used in different laboratories. This progress report should be followed during the coming year by further investigations leading to more definite recommendations.
