Abstract:
During the year 1911 an experiemental installation of the hypochlorite process for the approximate sterilizatoin of the entire municipal water supply of Kansas City was so remarkably successful in diminishing the sickness and death rate in the city on account of typhoid fever as well as other forms of intestinal disease, that the Kansas City Fire and Water Board undertook the construction of a permanent process to the water supply.
