Abstract:
The artifical stone industry in Germany, which depended on the development of the cement industry, can be traced back for about 50 years. The cement at that time was quick setting, which made it possible to use the forms repeatedly, at short intervals. The method of manufacture consisted in casting the concrete, of very wet consistency, in wood and plaster forms.
