Abstract:
During the past year the work of the Committee has included (a) Layout of tests of concrete for various laboratories with a view to recommending in a later report standards followed in making concrete test pieces. (b) Investigations and compilations of methods of tests of fine aggregate employed by various laboratories. (c) Studies of results of tests of sand mortars with a view of recommending in a subsequent report uniform methods of test of fine aggregates. The present report emphasizes the necessity for more rigid requirements for the acceptance of concrete materials and for routine tests of the materials and the concrete.
