Title: The Use of Concrete In Mines: Annual Address by the President
Author(s): Richard L. Humphrey
Publication: Journal Proceedings
Appears on pages(s): 27-44
Abstract:The use of concrete in place of timber in mines dates back a number of years, but it is only within recent years, coincident with the development of the use of reinforced concrete and consequent economies in construction, that it has come into more general use, especially in Europe where the policy of building permanent works in connection with mining operations is in sharp contrast with the general practice in this country of building temporary structures.
