Abstract:High-performance is discussed with respect to the imperviousness of concrete against hazardous organic fluids. This is a topic which receives great attention in Germany since environmental protection is an urgent, current issue. After a chapter on transport mechanisms and testing methods, test results are presented which support the physical relations and which show several possibilities to make a concrete as impervious as possible. Finally, research needs are formulated which should receive due attention in the near future.
