Mr. Charles E. Fox, of Chicago, the architect who read at the 1915 convention of this instittute a paper entitled "Concrete in Metropolitan Building Construction," very clearly illustrated why reinforced concrete as ordinarily applied has not been generally accepted as fulfilling the conditions required for this class of work. The two most important of these conditions are as follows in the paper.
