Title: Results of Some Preliminary Tests on the Effect of Hydrated Lime on Mortars and Concrete
Author(s): H.H. Scofield and M.J. Stinchfield
Publication: Journal Proceedings
Appears on pages(s): 219-233
Abstract:The writers are cognizant of the fact that many enigneers are of the opinion that the presence, in small quantites, of hydrated lime in concrete has a benefical effect. Numerous text-books and other publications have cited the advantages thus to be gained but in most cases, attention has been directed to the fact that the hydrated lime admixture can be used advantageously only in lean mixtures and not in the richer ones.
