Abstract: Blast furnace slag as been used as the coarse aggregate in concrete for a number of years, and numerous laboratory tests have been made during that time; but these tests were conducted by different individuals, and with different cements and fine aggregates, and it is difficult to make direct comparisions of the results obtained.
