Abstract:
In the interval since the last report of this committee was made, a series of fire of more than one hundred full-size building columns, including all the important types of fire resistive columns, has been conducted, jointly, by the National Board of Fire Underwriters, The Associated Factory Mutal Fire Insurance Companies and the Bureau of Standards. These tests will give a vast amount of much-needed information as to the relative efficiency and reliability of the different types of protection for steel columns and will also give important information as to the fire-resistive properties of several types of concrete columns.
