Abstract: The design of spirally reinforced concrete columns has not been standardized to the same extent as the design of other reinforced-concrete members. This study was undertaken in the hope that by including the results of many different tests, some fundamental law could be established that would completely explain the action of hooped columns and serve as a basis for a working formula for design.
