Abstract:
One of the most outstanding developments in this country during the past few years has been the phenomenal growth of motor transportation. The production of low cost motor equipment and cheap motor fuel have created a demand for improved highways. The highway engineer has been faced with the urgent necessity for the design, construction and maintence of a sufficient mileage of highway, of a type best suited to the conditions of location, traffic and funds available.
