Title: Repairing and Retrofitting Post-Tensioned Beams
Author(s): P. R. Chakrabarti
Publication: Concrete International
Appears on pages(s): 45-48
Keywords: fiber-reinforced polymer; E-glass; carbon fiber
Abstract:Traditionally, unbonded, prestressed concrete structures are repaired by one of two methods: replacing the old tendons r adding new tendons and a new layer of concrete. Fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) and adhesives promised an alternate repair solution. The information presented in this article is the result of a research project performed to understand the behavior of prestressed, post-tensioned beams that are repaired or retrofit with FRP.
