Abstract:The Pictorial Celebration is expected to arrive in late June 2004. This is a commemorative coffee table book published as part of ACI’s Centennial. The book features photographs and commentary for many notable concrete projects from the last 100 years. This large format, +250-page, hard-cover, full color book will be available this summer in limited quantities. The book includes photo contributions from around the world and covers projects as varied as the Channel Tunnel, Hoover Dam, and the Panama Canal. Some are historic in nature and document the pioneering spirit of concrete constructors in the early part of the 20th century. Others represent the best technologies the concrete industry has to offer today. Most facets of the concrete industry are represented. Included in the book is a timeline of significant advancements in concrete materials, equipment, design and construction.
