Abstract:
The prportioning of concrete, including mixes containing entrained air, is set forth in this reccommended practice. Tables are provided which, along with laboratory tests on physical properties of fine and coarse aggregate, yield information rapidly for obtaining concrete proportions. Three examples are included in the deisgn of air-entrained and non-air-entarined mixes which utilize the tables. Adjustment of aggregate proportions due to moisture present in aggregates is illustrated. Laboratory tests are given in the appendix and include those on physical properties of cement and aggregate. Also included is a simple method of obtaining mix proportions for the small job.
