Abstract:
Describes the design and construction of a special ramp, built for the U.S. Navy, using a precast concrete system. Basically, it consists of precast reinforced concrete bearing piles set on the apexes of equilateral triangles supporting precast girders which inturn support triangular deck slabs. The tops of the piles were fitted with special anchors and bearing plates to receive the connection at each end of the girders.
