Abstract: Paper demonstrates the applicability of the moment-distribution method when combined with principles of superposition to the practical analysis of continuous symmetrical arches on flexible piers. The calculations are sim-ple, and all operations of multiplication and division may usually be performed with sufficient accuracy on a 10-in. slide rule.
